Overcoming Challenges part 4 its time to ask for help

How many of us go through life trying to do everything ourselves?  You look at a challenge and say I should be able to be strong enough to get through this all by myself.  As the challenge does not end and goes on and on we continue to say I can do this by myself.  Did you ever stop to think that part of the challenge is to learn to ask for help?

I know that this is one of my biggest problems.  Asking for help seems like something that only weak people would do and I am not weak.  At least that is what I tell myself.  The reality is that strong people know when they are facing a challenge they cannot overcome on their own.  They begin to reach out to the people who have the resources available to help them meet the challenge head on.

For some that means a simple reach out to their God or for some the Universe to ask for what they need.  Many times it goes beyond that and once God or the Universe has been asked the resource comes from someone with the knowledge and resources to help.  If you have an injury or an illness needing an operation, you wouldn't do it yourself.

Other times reaching out for help involves looking to people who have been there themselves.  Getting a mentor, seeking out your upline, getting a coach.  That doesn't mean just reading a book it actually means looking for people who can guide you through your challenge through advice, tips and tricks that will address your challenge specifically.

As a project head challenges are often in the form of learning to delegate and breaking down the project into manageable tasks for others to assist with.    For health issues it means reaching out to doctors and sometimes home health aides.

There are many different kind of challenges.  Every one of them has an opportunity to seek out those with more experience for help.  Even if that help is just a shoulder to cry on or a sounding board.  Don't be afraid to seek out that help.  It may just make the difference between success and failure.
